Goodmorning

Hello all of you beautiful people out there in the blogosphere. How have you been? Life has been not quite as boring here lately. I've gotten more involved at church the past couple of weeks. It's been exciting. And I've learned a lot about people. I've also learned one life lesson. Don't develop an opinion about someone based on what someone else says before you talk to that person yourself. For the longest time, until a few weeks ago, I had the opinion that a girl that goes to my church was snobby, mean, and straight up crabby all the time. Well, when I started going to the bible study on Wednesday night for the singles, I realized that she wasn't what I thought she was. So then I went with them to feed that homeless a couple of weeks ago, and she went. She's very nice and very funny. I confessed to her what I had thought. I said "You know, I always thought that you were mean and snobby." She said that everyone thinks that before they get to know her, but that she had also changed a lot since she had started to church. I told her that now I enjoy being around her because she's a very nice person.
So besides that, I've also joined the choir. I enjoy singing and my mom and some other had been wanting me to join for a while. Finally, at the fire works on July 4, the choir director told me that she wanted me to be there on Sunday afternoon for choir practice. So...that's where you will find me on Sunday afternoons.
Last night, the singles group had dinner and a bible study. It was great fun! We laughed... mostly because the potatoes took so long to boil and cook. And because when we were trying to lite the eye on the stove, Teresa didn't turn the knob on all the way and so it was just letting gas into the atmosphere. Well when we finally figured it out, we were all down looking at the eye and she turn it on and the next thing I knew, I was asking Teresa if she still had all her hair. Luckily, there was no hair loss... It was hilarious. The flame shot out and we all jumped back at once. I met some knew people. Paul and John. They are quite nice. Jim taught some about prayer. He told us how to pray and there are steps to prayer. First, you begin by praising God. Then you worship him. Then you bring your burdens and things you want to pray about. Then you sit and listen for ever how long it takes for God to speak to you.
Of course, it's not an audible voice though. He speaks to the heart and through the Word. Just the other day, I had been asking God about a situation and what I should do about it. I had not been able to really come to a conclusion one way or the other. God spoke to me through the book I'm studying from called Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyer. This situation that I had been talking to God about was making me anxious and I had begin to worry and think of all the bad things that could happen. So I began to read.

Have you ever noticed that the condition of your mind changes? One time you may be calm and peaceful, and another time anxious and worried. Or you may make a decision and be sure about it, then later find your mind in a confused condition concerning the very thing you were previously so clear and certain about.

I kept reading after there and there were some scriptures. One in particular. 1 Peter 5:6-7 which says 'Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you."
God wanted me to give him control of the situation, casting all my care upon Him and He would take care of it. I had to stop being anxious and worried about the situation. Not only because God had told me to, but because worrying and stressing in the past was what caused my headaches. And as a child of God, Jesus takes upon him our burdens and gives us rest. Matthew 11:28 says ' Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.' Thank God for the rest!

So, in all this, I've learned that you don't develop opinions from someone else, you have to be still and listen, and seek His face!

Hi, I found your blog because you commented at my blog a looong time ago :)

Anyway it's always great to be in a bible study group. The friends you make there can really support you as you go along in life. It's amazing that sometimes they will be like your family.

I also agree with you not to judge people by how they look. I get people thinking I am snobbish too, but actually I'm just really really shy.
